I can't believe I'm turning into a blogger. Let me start over. My name is Elena. I am a recently turned 25 year old who works in fundraising in South Jersey. My hobbies include: zumba, reading, traveling, public health, learning...etc. I used to have an "open diary" back in HS before blogging became the norm. I used to write in the thing with a passion however after realized that I was not comfortable airing my personal laundry out for the world to see. Upon deleting my diary I swore to never write so openly on the internet again. Years later, I am back. The question is: why?
The answer is quite simple really. I graduated with my masters of public health in policy and management in 2009. As typical with a concentration in policy I used to write often and rapidly. And I always held my writing ability with high regard. Since entering the work force almost 2 years ago I have found that my writing ability has greatly suffered. Even as I write this post I find I am struggling with sentence structure, word usage, vocabulary, etc. I'm hoping that writing in this blog will serve as a way to improve my writing skills while also giving me an outlet for all things worth sharing and frustrating.
For this reason, this blog is personal and at this point meant for my eyes only. I will not be broadcasting this blog to friends, or family, but I will be accessible to you, the average every day internet blogger surfer. Here's to hoping this blog turns into something impactful for yours truly. Until then...happy reading!
